Brilliant Genius
This guy leaves a note on my laptop telling me not to connect to the network. I call to enquire and they say that there is 'suspicious activity' on my com the past week. Considering that I was on leave for 2 weeks, I guessed it must be a virus programme or something.
The guy I called told me to run a virus scan using McAfee. I did just that, and there were no virus found. So I give the guy a call again, and he asks for a print log. I connected back to the network and sent him the log by email and he says that everything is ok except that an engineer might come over to take a look, just in case.
So, this engineer turns up and before anything happens, pulls out the network cable and starts telling me that I am the virus infecting the whole company. No, thats not a typo. He said I was the virus. A colleague heard it and laughed all the way telling me that I might be the infectant.
So, this guy sits down, connects his HDD to my laptop and starts to install AVG antivirus into my laptop! So, I guess it means that McAfee is not as good as AVG? (He was using the free version by the way). So he runs the virus scan again, and again it indicated no virus found. Tried to be helpful by telling him to use Spybot or some other programme to check on spyware, but he insisted that AVG had everything covered.
Took him another hour to do print screens of the anti virus scan results, before he finally told me that there was nothing wrong with my pc and there was no activity whatsoever for the past 2 weeks (which I am well aware of.. I was on hols!).
Guess it'd be much more painless if the guy just told me to run AVG and send him the printscreen results, instead of hogging my com for a few hours.

The source of Samurai X?
Oh wow. There is a movie in 1990 that Ruruoni Kenshin might have been based on.
Okita Soji does "dojo yaburi"(道場破り/どうじょう やぶり) in this scene ― making a challenge at a kendo hall (and bringing its members to their knees). She wins and gets the hall's symbol ― a door plate made of wood and written in brush with India ink stick [sumi/墨/すみ]. But they're not satisfied and pursue after Okita. Okita meets them again in a manner of fair tactic uses the Mine-uchi (reverse edge sword) in order not to kill anybody.

Aaarrggghhh..
Sleepy...
First time was when they had this ang mo from overseas give a full day talk. I was trying really hard not to doze off, when 70% of the seminar room was asleep. Half way, my colleague laughs and tells me that I was asleep but my eyes are open! Says that this is a skill he has yet to learn.
Second time was 2 days ago. Was staring at my computer screen so long, that I stared blank and went into stasis. Someone spotted me and I woke up wondering how the person know I was asleep.
Third time, just happened a few minutes ago. When everyone went in for a briefing, and I was thinking about watching la bi xiao xin (crayon shin-chan) after work. Felt sooo sleepy, especially after singing in partybox till 1am the night b4. And I can feel my eyelids trying to flip close.
Its either I am getting old, or I really need to lay off the coffee (or drink more) whichever works.

A temp staff friend asked me for help to get his other temp staff buddy a n95 mask. His buddy wasn't feeling well since yesterday, and should've been given one the day before.
I went over to a guy who gave out masks yesterday and asked if he had any masks left to spare. He had quite a bit of spares but insisted to go to ask his colleague if he had surgical masks. That colleague he approached said that he should just issue a n95 mask. If there are insufficient masks, he would go to the upper floor to get more.
So we went back to this guy's cubicle to get the n95 mask. When we reached his cubicle, he made a remark that he was just giving out masks for his department, and he was doing us a favor by giving us staff from another department the masks. He then added that we had a rep, but the rep is in another office, so we must have another rep from our department to give out the masks. At that point, I asked a question. If say I was the rep, where would I get the masks from? And the answer was in front of his cubicle %$#%#@$!#$@!#$@%$. What's the diff if he gave out the mask or someone else gave out the mask???
It's not like I am getting something which costs like hundreds of dollars, or something expensive that requires justification. It's just a mask. Regretted asking. Should have just gone downstairs and bought one for my friend's friend.
Seriously, I have nothing against the guy who gave out the masks, he was probably just doing his job. But I'm just really appalled by how rigid and idiotic things are at work...

Clone Wars - Unabridged (whatever that means)
Count Dooku of the Seperatist Confederation employed the services of Bounty Hunter Durge to destroy Tatooine using the Death Star. Before his plans could succeed, Durge plays truant and was banned by the Confederation.Dooku assigns the demolition of Tatooine to his apprentice Phenom
RoadWalker.Dooku then shifts his focus over to Jabba the Hutt, who was leading the auditing of droids.

Jabba was loyal to Dooku, but to all droids astonishment, Jabba was poached over to the light by the Jedi to join the Galactic Republic (The Jedi are good poachers).
Dooku assigns the auditing of droids to Phenom RoadWalker.
Now, being frustrated and understanding that the fate of the Clone Wars was hanging on a fine line, Dooku unleashes his right hand apprentice, General Grevious.
General Grevious led the fearsome tower and mobile guards who terrorised the land. After sending Grevious a mini lightsaber, Dooku was sure the Clone Wars would be won by the Seperatist. However, to his dismay, Dooku sucumbs to the light again, and becomes Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Now Dooku was really pissed.
Dooku assigns the tower and mobile guards to Phenom RoadWalker.
Phenom RoadWalker, being infinitely powerful, with the tower and mobile guards, the audited droids and the demolished Tatooine, waits patiently for the Jedi to contact him and poach him to the light.
Hais..
You know it's not going to be a good day when....
Yawn...
Think I'll just write a few words before I go to bed. Dun blame me if it dun make sense. Really tired. Left shoulder still a bit sore. Colleague laughed at me using 'feng yeu' to rub my shoulder cos I had no 'deep heat' in the office. Like 'feng yeu' is some miracle water... cough, drink 2 drops... shoulder blade pain, rub 1 handfull... boss come, open the lid (he hates the smell...haha). And feel like a flu is coming up. Having headaches the whole day. Ah well...better go to bed, tomorrow is a long long day. Got to take 3 hyper-speed statements, go for 'department birthday lunch' (hais.. dun ask), draft case report and review my %@^%$">&^%@^%$# calculation & see why I get a tonnage of 50 instead of 2.
Ok good nite and rest well everyone..

Coffee Addict
A colleague offered me a 3 in 1 when we were having a discussion. Being professional, I declined and continued briefing him on something he wanted to know. Half way thru discussions, the 3 in 1 seemed to looked more and more enticing. Temptation took over and I told him i changed my mind (cheapo), thanked him and proceeded to pour hot water into a cup. I went back to my cubicle with the drink and my neighbour laughed and said that I looked soooo happy over a cup of free 3 in 1. That coming from someone who was ecstatically happy receiving a small pack of free twisties. Hah. Think I better stock up on 3 in 1's. Before I decide to have more discussions at my colleagues cubicle. Haha...
Safe driver...

One sat in my car and said I was a reckless driver. Another sat in my car to verify how safe it was based on the other's account. There were no negative comments, until we almost reached the destination, at which point he said 'u really not kidding when u say u dunno which direction to go one lei'. Wahaha!! I admit.. I am directionally retarded. But he diden say anything about reckless driving le. Hahaha.

Post-Rojak Action...
Went to Pek Kio for dinner. Halfway walking to the hawker center, we came across some cameramen taking pictures and videos. Looked like they were from Vasantham Central. We went to the next area to avoid the cameras and ordered our food. Before the food came, the camera crew came over to our side and started fliming.
A lady in white (left) went in a hawker stall and the camera crew followed suit. It was then that we realised that it wasn't a film... but rather cameramen taking footage of a health inspector inspecting the hawker stall. Took about 5 mins before the inspector came out, and we heard her asking the hawker to show her his fingernails. After that, she expounded advice on how to keep the stall clean. On a side note, some of the other stall owners were busy packing up their stalls to avoid the lady from going in to check.
I guess this is all in response to the recent rojak incident. And perhaps, a signal to stall owners to keep their stalls clean is better than nothing.
Gonzo - Densetsu no Keiji
Just completed the series. Quite entertaining. Probably not as good as Galileo, but its of a different genre, and there is only one case throughout the 10 episodes. Links at mysoju are broken though, so u've got to either buy it or borrow it from me at the cost of one coffee... haha.Sypnosis:
Kuroki was once an ace detective, but after being traumatized from a case, he became unable to work and was transferred to another division, where he idles his time away. One day, a particular case pulls him out of his rut and gives him a chance to return as a detective.
Who is that....
Joke of the day!
D boss came over and told me where he wanted the meeting lunch to be at. He mentioned the location, and I penned it down. I scribbled on the notepad "White Quay". Was wondering where the heck this place is.. somewhere in Boat Quay perhaps.
He looked at what I was writing and darn, the scribbling was legible enuff for him to see. So he corrected me by spelling out the location... H-U-A-T K-E-E...

Not a good day...
No... it's not about the worker trying to commit suicide outside our company building, or the overlengthy Q&A sessions after the presentations, heck its not even the personal non-work assignments that I keep getting.
It's just that a good friend of mine, whom is like a small sister to me, is leaving. It's not that I'm not happy for her or that I don't think that it's a good move, but it just feels like one more close friend of mine is going away.
Oh well, people come and go in our lives everyday. And we should be happy that we made a lot of good friends along the way. Have to remind ourselves that our dear friend would have a better career ahead and things can only get better from here.
Only words left to say are... "Gambatte ne! Karadani ki o tsukete ne!"
(Think it means 'jia you' but take care of yourself)

A bit 4 d earth..

Oh wow!! Everyone really did do their part for Earth Day! Was a bit surprised that about 90% of the condos around us had their lights turned off. The picture above was taken from the balcony of my condo. And the line of light u see there in the middle, is the corridor lights which the condo management probably needed to keep open.
We stayed a while inside, then decided to take a stroll outside, to enjoy the scenery at night and to kill some time before the hour was over. Well, I guess its nice to know that people still stick together when the need arises and we do care about our good earth...
I guess....
I guess the thing about friends is that we know distance or time is never of importance. That we will still be as close as the last time we met, even after years of not seeing each other. That we know that life may not permit the company, but we will always have them at heart.
If u haven't seen or heard from a friend for ages, but when u do, u feel as though that person had never been away, then u'd have a true friend which will outlast even the ages. - Exerpt from the preachings of Phenom
What we were told not to do as kids...
Went for grocery shopping while getting breakfast this morning. Receipt came up to about $60+ and almost half the amount was spent on assortments of snacks and junk food! Haha.. Think I really need to grow up and stop with d junk food.
