A new companion...

Got myself a new Yamaha Privia 700 a week back... was planning for a Casio CDP-100 for the longest time, but when we went over to Carrefour, and saw a couple of models, this was a winner!! Well, and not to mention $500 more expensive than the latter...

Never was any good at piano...but I guess I can now spend some time on it..

Finally a letter!!!

I was reading the newspapers one day... and being a comic page person, it was a one in a lifetime occurence that I was flipping through the rest of the articles... halfway through the newspapers, an article caught my attention. It was on a rapist being caught. What caught my attention was not the article itself, but the name of the rapist... it was 80% similar to that of my brother!! So what happened next is history... and it included some liquid paper, an envelope and a stamp. He received the letter a few days later... and his joy of receiving it was shortlived.. I guess he would've cursed me profusely after receiving an envelope with an article.

Years later, well actually yesterday, I read an article on a kid with a depressing past... well, only this time, he had the name of my office buddy... stopping short of cutting out the article, I sent him an sms with the page number and newspaper it was on... phew..... good thing though, he didn't have the time to read it...

Guess I should start writing a proper letter... to compensate for the missing letter that should've companied the article..

Chiu kua...

Wow...always dreaded going to the karaoke with frens in Singapore.. after all, I am chinese illiterate, and singing a mandarin song is as good as me reciting a poem from memory.. but nonetheless, 3 handsome guys made their way there. The lady asked if we were singing for a couple of hours or longer and told us they would close at 4am. If we left anytime before that, they would have no additional charges.. Looking at my watch, it was about 9pm plus. So, if we sang for like 2 hours, we would finish by say 11pm.
So, we booked a room, got in, and started honing our throats.. One guy sang like Jay Chou... the other like Andy Lau... hehehe... I as usual, cannot sing la.. So, imagine Jay giving Andy support while singing a Stephenie Sun song...
We were there for a while, and as we ordered our second drink on the house, it was already 12+... so, deciding to maximise our investment, we made another major decision... to sing till 4am!! By 2am, we were foaming from singing.. the mike seemed to have legs...and always ended up on Jay's chest... then when Jay and Andy took a leak, I swopped places and all of a sudden, I was Andy, Andy was Jay and Jay was me! Finished a couple more songs... and it was already 4am..
We walked out with Andy (now Jay) commenting that he couldn't walk straight.. he can drink 2 towers at Brewerks, but just singing 7 hours at Kbox and he can't walk straight... hahahhahaa....
On an ending note... this is probably the first time I've spent so many hours in a karaoke room...
