A poke hunters quest

We read somewhere that there was going to be a Pokemon festival in Japan. Being old and having not much of a hobby, we ended up being Pokemon Go players. So we created a couple of bogus accounts (yes we don't have a life), and started to apply for tickets to participate in the event. Didn't think much of it and thought we would never be able to get one when ting! one email came with this QR code thingy. The rest is history.

So we packed our bags, didn't plan much of what we were going to do, and just made our way to Japan. Was going to post pics of the hotel we stayed in, the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, but realised I didn't take any! Oh well, this is the view from the hotel which we took. And there is a Ferris Wheel beside the hotel (And there's the view of the Ferris Wheel at night, in case you need to find the hotel).

Good thing about the hotel is that it has malls connected to it... malls with lots of food, and with a Pokemon Center (Landmark Plaza) connected to it, a Snoopy place, a Disney shop, even a restaurant selling cheese and milk with a long queue of aunties (don't ask me why). Tanaka, Tinika, Tanakawa, dammit I forgot the name of the shop. Ok I just googled it. It's Takanashi Milk Restaurant. Oh well, we didn't go in that one, because although the queue was long, and it was enticing, some ang mo's that reviewed the shop says the taste is bland.

So then, where exactly did we go??

Ichiran Ramen!! It's24 hours, and it seems everyone except us have been there. I only know of this place cause a colleague bought me a box of instant noodles from here. We've been to Japan like don't know how many times, but have never been there until this trip. Well, how is it? I still think the instant noodle version taste better. Though it does grow on you and after the second time we visited, it was just heaven.

Other places?

Pokemon Center of course!! Where you buy all the plush toys and throw it on your sofa when you don't know where else to put it! This time we got three from the next season! My god I don't know their names! Some green thing, one that looks like a pig and another that looks like a lighter pig.

So the big day came, and we referred to this chart to see what we were supposed to catch. Well we only had one pass, from the bogus account, so we had to share. Good thing they came up with this new trading mechanism. We went to 2 parks and it was full, I mean seriously full of people. The photos here don't give liberty to what we saw. I took them when no one was around.

Final haul, a truck load of tropious (a brontasaur looking like a banana tree) and a load of unowns (u know?). If you don't, go google it! Ok, it doesn't sound that interesting, but believe me, it was interesting!! Serious!!

We even stopped by and had a pikachu drink. I ordered a ice latte and a pikachu drink. The lady who made the drink, gave me the drink and said "ice latte, mango punch". Felt so conned. She should have at least said "pikachu freeze" or something.

And of course, we had a great dinner at the high class japanese restaurant below the hotel.

Well, a picture tells a thousand words, so I wont say much. Just look at the pictures.

All in all, a good relaxing trip just for a break, and it was great!!

Things we achieved:
Went Ichiran 2x
Went Mcdonalds to buy fries 3x
Went Pokemon Center once (almost went twice!)
Past the Takasomething milk place 5x
Encounter typhoon almost a second time!
Caught (undisclosed) no of pokemon (in case we get robbed)
And slept like a baby for all 3 nights (can't say that for tonight though, its back to work tomorrow)

Ok, thats all I have! Good night folks!!
