Jumanji: The Next Level

Just caught this on my rest day! While everyone else are at home complaining about cabin sickness, I still have to work shifts during this difficult times. So its really a gift to habe time to just sit down and watch a movie, not at the cinema but at home. Sometimes, it takes a pandemic to remind us how lucky and blessed we have been all these years. The movie is fun!! With The Rock still dishing it out and a fun plot to go with it. Still wishing this whole saga would be over though so we csn all go back to proper cinemas to watch movies!! ☺

Funny!!

Roads like before

Had to take the graveyard shift. Driving at 2am and in the current situation, the roads were back to Singapore in the 70's, where jams were unthinkable and roads were so smooth, it feels like a baby's backside.

Makuhita!! Small gift, on the way home after a long day..

Old Chang Kee!!

Team member bought 2 boxes of old chang kee curry puffs to the office for breakfast!! Amid all the difficulties and troubles we are put through, it has just been delightful!! With everyone trying to make life a bit better fir others.
We've thus far had 'lu rou fan', bubble tea (before they were shut down), pizza hut, kfc and a slew of other food; some courtesy of team members and others from people who acknowledged our work and just wanted to show their appreciation.
While most have lost weight due to the stress and pressure, i've instead gained 2kg. Dang it! Lol!

Red eye

Just ended up with a red eye somehow and doc says its not contagious, but likely to be bacterial infection. Probably easier to get it due to the dry weather. No worries, the moment I posted this, my eye has already recovered. Just found it super inconvenient to move around with one eye looking like someone from a horror movie.

Just reminds me of the old movie "The Eye" featuring Malaysian actress Li Xinjie.

Imortalising Luffy Vs Katakuri

Can't believe a company actually took to importalising the fight between luffy and katakuri!! The end product is really no less than impressive!

Here's the unboxing clip that someone posted:

Snow Flower

Wahh...really like Gummy's rendition of Snow Flower. So impressed by how she sings. Sigh, if only I can sing half as well.

This is the 'original' version sung by Park Hyo Shin.....

And the original original version in Japanese...

A poke hunters quest

We read somewhere that there was going to be a Pokemon festival in Japan. Being old and having not much of a hobby, we ended up being Pokemon Go players. So we created a couple of bogus accounts (yes we don't have a life), and started to apply for tickets to participate in the event. Didn't think much of it and thought we would never be able to get one when ting! one email came with this QR code thingy. The rest is history.

So we packed our bags, didn't plan much of what we were going to do, and just made our way to Japan. Was going to post pics of the hotel we stayed in, the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, but realised I didn't take any! Oh well, this is the view from the hotel which we took. And there is a Ferris Wheel beside the hotel (And there's the view of the Ferris Wheel at night, in case you need to find the hotel).

Good thing about the hotel is that it has malls connected to it... malls with lots of food, and with a Pokemon Center (Landmark Plaza) connected to it, a Snoopy place, a Disney shop, even a restaurant selling cheese and milk with a long queue of aunties (don't ask me why). Tanaka, Tinika, Tanakawa, dammit I forgot the name of the shop. Ok I just googled it. It's Takanashi Milk Restaurant. Oh well, we didn't go in that one, because although the queue was long, and it was enticing, some ang mo's that reviewed the shop says the taste is bland.

So then, where exactly did we go??

Ichiran Ramen!! It's24 hours, and it seems everyone except us have been there. I only know of this place cause a colleague bought me a box of instant noodles from here. We've been to Japan like don't know how many times, but have never been there until this trip. Well, how is it? I still think the instant noodle version taste better. Though it does grow on you and after the second time we visited, it was just heaven.

Other places?

Pokemon Center of course!! Where you buy all the plush toys and throw it on your sofa when you don't know where else to put it! This time we got three from the next season! My god I don't know their names! Some green thing, one that looks like a pig and another that looks like a lighter pig.

So the big day came, and we referred to this chart to see what we were supposed to catch. Well we only had one pass, from the bogus account, so we had to share. Good thing they came up with this new trading mechanism. We went to 2 parks and it was full, I mean seriously full of people. The photos here don't give liberty to what we saw. I took them when no one was around.

Final haul, a truck load of tropious (a brontasaur looking like a banana tree) and a load of unowns (u know?). If you don't, go google it! Ok, it doesn't sound that interesting, but believe me, it was interesting!! Serious!!

We even stopped by and had a pikachu drink. I ordered a ice latte and a pikachu drink. The lady who made the drink, gave me the drink and said "ice latte, mango punch". Felt so conned. She should have at least said "pikachu freeze" or something.

And of course, we had a great dinner at the high class japanese restaurant below the hotel.

Well, a picture tells a thousand words, so I wont say much. Just look at the pictures.

All in all, a good relaxing trip just for a break, and it was great!!

Things we achieved:
Went Ichiran 2x
Went Mcdonalds to buy fries 3x
Went Pokemon Center once (almost went twice!)
Past the Takasomething milk place 5x
Encounter typhoon almost a second time!
Caught (undisclosed) no of pokemon (in case we get robbed)
And slept like a baby for all 3 nights (can't say that for tonight though, its back to work tomorrow)

Ok, thats all I have! Good night folks!!

What just happened??

Finally got a short break. After a grueling day at a forum giving a presentation, I finally went home, had dinner, finished up some house chores, and just sat there in front of the pc listening to some kpop ballads, like pak hyo shin's wildflower and nilo's come along. Suddenly feel a wave of tiredness, with the many things happening everyday, one coming after another. It just feels weird, like there are so many problems everyday, so many people getting sick, getting pained, getting down and out. And every time you try to do something for someone, and even after you've done what you had wanted to for that person, the next person comes along with another problem. Then I look at myself and start wondering. Why had all my own problems seemed so trivial, while I always prioritised problems others had that always meant so much more. Why do people look for me when only when they need help and not when they are happy or have something to share? Why did I not have to solve other peoples problems when I was much younger? And that I only had to be responsible for my own time and happiness? How did I get so messed up that I needed to always try to make others lives better? I really don't know.

I just had a session of conversation, where someone sort of interviewed me. And I just spoke about what I really believed in and how I run my life through my beliefs. Everyone else seemed to find something out of what I said, and came over to tell me that they were motivated somehow. You'd think I am blowing my horn and seeking bragging rights, that I would feel gratified or elated that I made people think differently because of me. But instead, I guess I started questioning if what I'm doing is really right, and whether the advise I had given would make people's lives worse instead of better. Sometimes, doing things without procrastinating, completing things so that others don't have to do it, and believing that any problem you face is trivial, may all sound like great advice. But is there a point where you would burn out and be overtaken by lethargy? That you don't have the strength to think of what you need to do tomorrow, and that you just want to sit there and do nothing and just let the day end. Well, this is perhaps just one of those days.

And when that time comes, you finally had the time to put your last bit of energy to just complain on your own blog, which you had neglected for ages. Oh well, after all, no one reads the crap I write here anymore. And then just sit back and relax and not think of anything at all, listen to music, and then when you're too tired, finally just doze off and go to sleep.

Zzzzzz...

Ok I admit... I'm posting because I have insomnia again.. arrgghh...ok will force myself to sleep now...

If I don't wake up tomorrow, tell the doc I took melatonin...

Nite nite!!

Grr...grr....growll...

Was in my boss office the other day for a discussion with the rest of my colleagues when suddenly there was this rumbling ... grr...grr...grrrr... ''who's stomach is that?'' ''err... (raising my hand)... mine!''  '' you didn't eat?''  ''Err I did... but its still rumbling''  '' grr grr groowlll''

Today that happened again, at my colleagues cubicle... ''grr grrrrrr'' ''oh shut it already'' '' grr grr GRRRR''  ''dammit''

Think I'm down with some IBC or stomach flu thing... better take more probiotics... ''dem embarrassingggggrrrr''
